Puerto Del Carmen is Lanzarotes original resort. The famous strip runs for eight kilometres, with golden sandy beach on one side, and bars, shops and restaurants on the other. The resort is a mecca for water sports enthusiasts as well as offering a fabulous nightlife for party goers. The Old Town area boasts some of the islands best restaurants, as well as The Biosfera shopping centre. Matagorda is a quieter part of the resort and is more family orientated. A new golf course is in construction just outside the town.
